So, a while back, a fellow photographer friend, did me the honor of asking me to shoot his brother's senior photos. I was very honored. I realized I must have progressed far enough for this very talented photographer and graphic designer to think of me as talented as well. In fact, he said that he thought I would do a better job than he would. I don't say this to boast or brag, but to express how I felt when another photographer asked to me shoot photos of a member of his family. Now, this is cool, but it also poses some stressors that I don't always have to deal with. There is some security in knowing that most of my clients are not experienced photographers. This is not saying that they don't know anything about it all.... It's just saying that they may not know WHY they like a photo, they just know that they like it. It is my job to read my customers and present them with photographs that suite who they are and what they perceive to be good. The issue that comes with shooting for another seasoned photographer is that they know all about exposure, compostion, depth of field, color....etc. I have never had anyone not truly happy with their photos...but I stress about none the less when I am shooting for another photographer.
Anyways, he asked me to shoot these photos. I told him I would be happy to. I arranged for Scott to meet me in Guthrie, OK - this has become one of my favorite places to shoot - and this was quite a drive for him coming from Tulsa. He came and we got started. I will say it was a bit cold though, and we had to cut the session a little shorter than usual due to a red nose....but I think they did turn out nice. He had fun, and I was glad I could do this for a friend...
